Details of the 2025 Federal Government of Nigeria Bilateral Education Scholarship Awards
The details of the Federal Bilateral Education Scholarship (BEA) offered by the Ministry of Education for eligible and interested Nigerians are as follows:
- Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt and Algeria;
- Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Romania.
Fields of Study:
- Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and
- Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields.
Eligibility/Requirements For the 2025 Federal Government of Nigeria Bilateral Education Scholarship Awards
To be eligible for the 2025 Federal Government of Nigeria Bilateral Education Scholarship Awards (Undergraduate), take note of the following:
- All candidates applying for undergraduate degree programs must have at least seven (7) distinctions (As and Bs) in the relevant subjects of their chosen field, including English Language and Mathematics, from the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only.
- The certificates must be no older than two (2) years (2022 and 2023) for non-African countries, and no older than one (1) year (2023) for African countries. The age limit for applicants is between 17 and 20 years.
To be eligible for the 2025 Federal Government of Nigeria Bilateral Education Scholarship Awards (Postgraduate), take note of the following:
- All applicants for postgraduate degree programs must have a First Degree with a 1st Class or at least a 2nd Class Upper Division.
- Applicants must also have completed the N.Y.S.C. Program, and the age limit is 35 years for Master’s applicants and 40 years for Ph.D. applicants. Only N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates are accepted.
- Additionally, applicants must provide evidence of their employer’s willingness to release them.
Required Documents for the Federal Bilateral Education Scholarship 2025
All Applicants are to upload the following certificates online;
- UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip
- POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate.
Note: Candidates selected by the Board must submit the following documents to the Federal Scholarship Board:
- Certified copies of academic certificates
- Data page of the current international passport
- Required medical reports from government hospitals
- Birth certificate and indigene letter
- Police clearance certificate, if applicable

To apply for the Federal Bilateral Education Scholarship, eligible and interested candidates are to:

- Review the guidelines, then fill out the application form online.
- Finally, print the completed application form.

General information for all applicants:
- Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants must be prepared to take a mandatory one-year language course in the official language of their chosen country, which will be the medium of instruction.
- Applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship may apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference. They must visit the website, which is open from mid-November to January 15, 2024.
- Complete the application form online.
- Applicants for Russia should visit the open website.
- For the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must have completed their first degree in Russia.
- All required documents must be uploaded to the Russian application portal in properly scanned PDF format.
- Applicants must upload the necessary certificates online.
