Requirements for the Government of the Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program
To be considered for the Government of the Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Firstly, they should be a citizen of a foreign country
- Next, they should be Master’s students or have completed at least 2.5 years of their university studies in the same or a similar study program by the application deadline.
- In addition, these students must be participating in an academic mobility program, meaning they will be on a study stay in Slovakia during their higher education abroad.
- Furthermore, they must have already received acceptance from a public, private, or state higher education institution in Slovakia for this academic mobility.
- Be enrolling in a postgraduate degree program at a Slovakian institution.
- PhD students are eligible if their higher education or scientific training takes place outside Slovakia and they have been accepted by a public, private, or state higher education institution or a research institution in Slovakia that is authorized to carry out a doctoral study program.
- Be international university teachers, researchers, or artists invited for a teaching, research, or artistic stay in Slovakia by an institution with a valid certificate of eligibility to carry out research and development (excluding business companies).
- Meet the language requirements of the country (English, French, Slovak, or Spanish).

- Curriculum vitae
- Motivation letter
- Detailed study program
- Two recommendation letters from the applicant’s university teachers
- Confirmation from the applicant’s home university confirming that they are a regular student at the time of application
- Scan of the applicant’s bachelor’s diploma, diploma supplement, and state examination certificate (if applicable)
- Admission/invitation letter from the host university in Slovakia indicates the stay period.
