Requirements For the Government of Taiwan Scholarship 2025 Scholarship
Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:
- You must be a citizen of a country listed as eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship and meet any specific requirements set by your country or government.
- Not be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or an overseas compatriot student.
- Meet the admission requirements of the partner university where you are applying for a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
- Be able to meet all the requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior of the ROC (Taiwan) government. (Note: The TaiwanICDF may cancel the scholarship if you cannot meet the visa requirements.)

The TaiwanICDF Scholarship covers everything a student needs: airfare (round-trip), housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance. The scholarship details are as follows:
- Airfare: TaiwanICDF will arrange your direct flights to and from Taiwan with Economy Class tickets.
- Housing: All students must live in the student dormitories.
- Tuition: TaiwanICDF will pay the tuition fees required by your university.
- Credit Fees: These fees depend on the number of credits you register for and will be covered by TaiwanICDF as needed by your university.
- Insurance: While in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education will cover you with mandatory student safety insurance, as well as accident and medical insurance. This coverage ensures protection in case of unforeseen events or medical emergencies during your stay. The program covers these fees for the entire duration.
- Textbook Costs: You can purchase textbooks as required by your professors, subject to approval from your institute’s director.
- Allowance:
- Undergraduate: NT$15,000 per month for food and living expenses, paid monthly into your local bank account.
- Master’s: NT$18,000 per month for food and living expenses, paid monthly into your local bank account.
- Ph.D.: NT$20,000 per month for food and living expenses, paid monthly into your local bank account.
Required Documents for the 2025 Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship
All Undergraduate Programs accept applications only from citizens of countries that are allies of the ROC (Taiwan).
Required documents include:
- A photocopy of the applicant’s passport or another document proving nationality.
- A photocopy of the applicant’s highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.
- A photocopy of the applicant’s English proficiency certificate.
- Two reference letters.
- Any additional documents requested by an ROC (Taiwan) Embassy, Consulate General, or Representative Office.

To apply for the 2025 Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship, eligible and interested applicants should:
- To apply for the ICDF Scholarship, fill out the online application form on the TaiwanICDF Scholarship application system.
- Upload all required documents through the online system.
- Each applicant can apply for only one program at a time and must submit a separate application directly to their chosen university.
- Applicants must also meet the document requirements of the TaiwanICDF partner schools they are applying to.
- The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate General/Representative Office will serve as the primary contact for applicants and will conduct an initial review based on the eligibility criteria and selection standards set by the Taiwan ICDF.
