The Mauritius Government Scholarship offers fully funded scholarships to qualified students who are resident citizens of African Union member states. Requirements for the Government of Mauritius Scholarships 2025
- To be eligible for the Government of Mauritius Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- For undergraduate programs, applicants should be over 18 but not yet 26 years old by January 1, 2026.
- For PhD programs, applicants should not be older than 40 by January 1, 2026.
- Applicants must have already applied for a full-time on-campus program (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius (listed in Section 8 of the Guidelines for Applicants) for the academic year starting in 2025.
- The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum duration as specified in the table below or for the minimum duration of the course, whichever is shorter.
Note
Scholarship applications must be submitted to the Nominating Agency in the applicant’s home country, not directly to Mauritius.
The Nominating Agency, usually a department within the Ministry of Education, will select and nominate up to five (5) candidates for undergraduate programs, specifying the level of studies for each nominee.
The Nominating Agency or the Ministry of Education in the candidate’s country of citizenship will then forward the completed application forms to Mauritius.
Documents Required for Application
- Application Form: Applicants should complete the form electronically before printing it.
- Applicants can only submit scholarship applications using the completed application form. The Nominating Agency in the applicant’s country of citizenship must endorse and complete Section 5 of the form.
- Applicants must submit their application through the Nominating Agency responsible for processing scholarships in their country of citizenship.
- Such Nominating Agency, which may typically be part of the Ministry of Education in the country of the applicant, will then shortlist and endorse the applications of a maximum of FIFTEEN (15) eligible candidates (five in each category of Undergraduate, Masters and MPhil/PhD) and submit the duly completed application form.
