Eligibility for the 2025 Zhengzhou University President Scholarship in China

Applicants must take note of the following:

• Be a Non-Chinese citizen, physically healthy, without a crime record;
• Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China as well as regulations of ZZU;
• Show a good learning attitude and solid academic foundation and intellectual potential to become a highly specialised researcher or expert.
• not be a registered PhD student in a Chinese university at the time of application.
• should have an excellent academic record in a master’s program ( for Pakistan applicants, should be 18 years master’s) or higher degree or equivalent degree, and be aged less than 40 years old;
• show IELTS results of 6.5 or higher if they are from non-English speaking countries.

Required Documents for the 2025 Zhengzhou University President Scholarship in China

Applicants must be willing to submit the following documents:

• CV and passport (must be valid for at least one more year).  
• Signed copy of the highest degree diploma.  
• Original or notarized copies of degree certificates and full transcripts from both undergraduate and postgraduate studies (if the applicant is currently a student or employed, they must also provide a study or employment certificate from their institution).  
• Documents not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized translations in either Chinese or English.  
• A statement of research interest and a detailed research proposal.  
• Two recommendation letters from professors who are familiar with the applicant, including their contact email and phone number.  
• Official score reports for HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or other language proficiency tests.
• Physical examination record: Foreigner Physical Examination Form with blood test reports in Chinese or English. It is valid for only 6 months, so please ensure it is still valid when your application is assessed.  
• Original or notarised copies of a certificate stating no criminal record.
• Other documents, e.g. list of publications, documentary evidence of academic awards and professional qualifications, and summary of relevant experience.

• ZZU will review all application documents and announce the scholarship results online 4-6 weeks after the submission deadline.

• Ensure that all necessary documents, including photo data, are submitted to the professor by 17:00 (JST) on January 10th, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted. Additionally, please send the original documents via FEDEX, DHL, or EMS to ensure they arrive by January 31st, 2025.
