Requirements for the Stanford University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship 2025:
To be considered for the Stanford University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment Status: You must be a full-time undergraduate student at a U.S. Department of Education-accredited public or private college/university in the United States or its territories.
- First-Generation College Status: If you’re an overseas student studying in the U.S. with a valid F-1 Visa, you must be the first person in your family to attend college and pursue a bachelor’s degree. Stanford also accepts applications from first-generation and/or low socioeconomic students enrolled full-time at public or private universities outside of the United States.
- Academic Standing: You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to demonstrate that you are in good academic standing.
- Future Plans: You must express a strong desire to pursue graduate work leading to a PhD in engineering. This program is not suitable for those pursuing degrees like MD, JD, MBA, or other non-research-focused advanced degrees.
- Undergraduate Status: You should have at least one full semester or quarter left in your undergraduate studies after the summer program. Stanford gives preference to rising juniors (third-year students) and seniors (fourth-year students). Students with a master’s degree are not eligible.
- Program Duration: You must be available to live on the Stanford campus during the full program, which runs from June 21 to August 16.
