Requirements for the University of Michigan International Student Scholarship 2025
To be eligible for the University of Michigan International Student Scholarship, applicants must first meet the following criteria:
- Be an incoming first-year undergraduate student admitted to a degree program in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). Students will, however, be considered even if they have not yet enrolled..
- Not be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Be enrolled (or intend to) full-time, taking 12 credit hours or more per term.

How To Apply for the University of Michigan International Student Scholarship 2025
To apply for the University of Michigan International Student Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates should follow these steps:
- Click the button below to visit the scholarship webpage.
- Apply for an undergraduate program in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA).
- Candidates must be admitted to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts in order to apply.
For Enrolled Students (Those who already have admission):
- Click the application link below and log in using your UM uniquename and password.
For Non-Enrolled Admitted Students:
- Complete all three steps first; only then should you log into the application portal.
- Please note this process may take up to 48 hours.
Step 1: Create a UM Friend Account [here].
- You need a Friend Account to access all university systems, including the LSA Scholarships Application Portal.
2: Verify your UM Friend Account on Wolverine Access.
- Navigate to the “Students” tab, click on “New & Prospective Student Business,” and log in with your Friend Account ID and password. You will need to verify your personal information, including your UMID and birth date. If you have forgotten your Friend Account password, you can, however, reset it here.
- Please note, the verification process may take up to 24 hours.
Step 3: Once your account is verified, you can submit your scholarship application.
