University of Pittsburgh Heinz Fellowship Selection Process
- During the residency, the Fellow must give at least one presentation on a topic related to their professional experience to the University community. The Fellowship encourages the Fellow to engage in community outreach by giving lectures about their home country to high school students or interested adults.
- By accepting the grant, the candidate agrees to the terms set by the University. The award expects Fellows to complete its full duration, unless an emergency arises.
- If a Fellow leaves the U.S. or ends the grant earlier than agreed without the University’s permission, they must repay the University for any costs incurred on their behalf.
- Upon finishing the Heinz Fellowship, Fellows must submit a final report detailing their activities and experiences during the Fellowship and explaining how they plan to use this knowledge in their home country.
- Program officials at the University of Pittsburgh and representatives of the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation share the final reports. These reports also serve as references for future Fellowship recipients. Once the University accepts the final report, UCIS will issue a Heinz Program certificate to the Fellows.
